What is the project and why should you care?

A group of us sportsbook industry professionals got together in 1997 to create a product that could help local bookies. We created PayPerHead to take bookies to the next level of managing their book. We designed the first version of our bookie management software to highly organize and streamline an agent’s day-to-day functions.

Since that time, we’ve continued to introduce new features that help bookies grow their businesses and make more money. At the same time, we’ve greatly improved their players’ experiences in betting on sports and casinos.

We cover over 80 sports leagues to suit any player’s tastes, with in-game and props betting. We now have premium and 3D digital casino games, along with 2 live dealers to keep your players entertained at any time, day or night. You can keep making money even while you sleep.

Mission

To uphold the highest standards of software quality, leveraging both manual and automation testing methodologies. The role involves not only ensuring the current product’s quality but also actively engaging and expanding in automation endeavors to keep our testing processes streamlined and efficient.

You will be an excellent fit for this position if you have:

Work Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including both manual and automated testing.
• 2+ years of experience in Web and Mobile Application automation testing (Playwright, Cypress, preferred).
• 3+ years of experience using testing management tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar.
• Experience in BDD tools like Cucumber (preferred).
• 1+ years of experience in performance testing (JMeter, K6, preferred).

 Desirable

• ISTQB Certification.

 Skills

Languages:

• English B2 Minimum.
• Fluent in Spanish.

Tools:

• Experience in Bitbucket or Git (Branches – Forks – PR Management).
• Software development and testing lifecycle knowledge.
• Javascript programming language
• Cypress or Playwrite knowledge is a plus

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Proactive mindset, especially towards automation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to relay defects to developers and other stakeholders.
• Collaborative team player who shares the vision of enhancing automation in QA processes.

Work Conditions

• Fully remote position.
• Availability to work within the Costa Rican time zone.

Here are some of the things you’ll be working on:

Manual Testing Activities:

• Identify, report, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
• Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure the product’s functionality matches requirements.
• Engage in test case creation and execution for new and existing features.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden issues.

Automation Testing Activities:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of automation test frameworks.
• Write and maintain automated test scripts ensuring repeatability and scalability.
• Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate with the team to identify areas of the application ripe for automation.
