This collaboration focused on developing the game from scratch, including all types of Baccarat games. Additionally, the project integrated advanced video streaming technologies to deliver seamless and interactive video experiences across various games, setting new industry standards for technological excellence. Client The client has made its mark in the global iGaming market with a lineup of casino games. The company offers a variety of sophisticated table and sportsbook pool-based games, all hosted on its proprietary platform and integrated with global partner and third-party platforms. These games stand out due to their dynamic odds and the rich, interactive experiences they offer. Challenges Aiming to revitalize their gaming experience, this innovative iGaming company faced the challenge of integrating diverse video content types, a key component of their unique game value proposition strategy. They needed support for both low-latency live streams and pre-recorded files, each requiring precise synchronization with the game’s state. Our tasks were outlined as follows: Recommend a streaming service that meets all functional and non-functional requirements. Configure the live streaming process—from capturing the live stream to delivering it to the end user in under 2 seconds. Prepare and store pre-recorded videos, ensuring they are instantly delivered to the end user. Ensure that pre-recorded videos are perfectly synchronized with the game state during playback. To address these challenges, the tasks to be completed in the application development included: Identifying and selecting a streaming service that fulfills all technical and business needs. Setting up a live streaming process designed to deliver content from recording to end-user in less than two seconds. Managing pre-recorded videos to guarantee instant delivery and precise synchronization with in-game events. Solution Our search for the most suitable streaming service was very detailed, guided by the unique requirements of the application development project. After a comprehensive investigation, we narrowed the options to four top contenders for the Proof of Concept (PoC). Each service underwent rigorous scrutiny, evaluating technical compatibility, service limitations, cost, available APIs, and documentation, among other criteria. Through this thorough process, Wowza emerged as our clear choice, instilling confidence in its suitability for our project. Such tests included testing latency with different streaming servers and destination users from locations like USA, UK, Thailand, Australia, Philippines, Japan, Honk Kong. Our team shortlisted and measured critical characteristics for the following streaming services: AWS Elemental Live Nanocosmos Cloudflare Wowza Millicast Flashphoner The next steps involved extensive streaming tests simulating real-world scenarios. These were conducted to validate Wowza’s ability to meet our critical Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) of ultra-low latency. With a sense of accomplishment, we seamlessly integrated Wowza into our architecture, successfully accomplishing the following tasks: Established the live streaming flow from the streamer to the end user using the Wowza API and Video Real-Time Streaming at Scale (RTS@S) streams. This technology ensures a WebRTC stream for unlimited viewers in less than 0.5 seconds. Uploaded pre-recorded videos to the Wowza Video platform and streamed them to end users using Wowza Video on Demand (VOD) functionality. The initial video position aligns with the game state to prevent delays between it and the video frame. Implemented periodic checks to ensure the video maintains its smooth flow. If any slowdown occurs, the video’s position is adjusted based on the game state, providing a seamless user experience. Streamline operations and boost efficiency with app modernization.
